WHAT IS A P&F

The St Brigid's P & F association provides strong community support for the school. It aims to build strong relationships within the school community (i.e. parents, grandparents, friends, staff)

On enrolment of your child/ren all parents and guardians are automatically members of the P&F. The P&F Executive oversees the P&F's operation while the committees look after each of the services which the P&F provides.

Regular Meetings are held and although there are formal elements to the meetings, it is an opportunity to bring the St Brigid's School Community together. An opportunity for parents to be involved.

It's not about fundraising, although any funds are re-invested back into the school for the benefit of all students. We hold events that are designed to bring the whole school community together for the benefit of the parents, staff and most importantly the children.

WHAT WE DO

We run many events and provide a number of services for students and families. These include:

- St Brigid's open day sausage sizzle

- Bake sale athletics carnival

- Easter treasure hunts

- Movie nights

- Social Events

- Meals to families in need

HELPING HANDS

The P&F values the rich diversity of the skills and experiences that each family brings to the school. We appreciate any help that families are able to offer.

Life can get busy, by being a "Helping Hand" you can be involved on a casual basis without committing to each and every event. You get to set the level of commitment according to your schedule/calendar.

HELPING HANDS ARE AN INVALUABLE
ASSET TO P&F AND WE COULDN'T
DO IT WITHOUT YOU!

You will be placed on an email list and when the jobs/events come up you will be notified and you can register your interest in helping out.

To find a job that suits, come along to a P&F meeting, complete the "Just One Thing" form (comes out at the beggining of each year) or join our email distribution list.

Benefits of Volunteering

P&F activities create opportunities for parents and carers, students and staff to interact, building a feeling of respect and a stronger, safer, school community.

When you participate, you benefit by:

  • Meeting other parents in the community

  • Understanding more about what happens at school

  • Getting to know the teachers better

  • Sharing your skills with other parents/teachers and learning new ones

  • Helping out sets a good example for your children

YOUR CHILDREN WILL BENEFIT TOO. RESERARCH SHOWS THAT WHEN PARENTS ARE INVOLVED, STUDENTS PERFORM BETTER ACADEMICALLY, HAVE A BETTER ATTITUDE TO SCHOOL AND IMPROVED BEHAVIOUR!
